A big round of applause to our fabulous young 2026 festival-goers 👏🥳
One of the core aims of Marlborough Literature Festival is to encourage and inspire a love of books, reading and writing, especially amongst our younger audience.
Thanks to the festival’s generous sponsors, donors and Friends, Marlborough LitFest has expanded its free events for schools’, helping children discover the lifelong joy of reading. It’s a mission backed by research from the National Literacy Trust, showing that children who read for pleasure develop stronger literacy skills and perform better across their education. The partnership reflects a shared belief that books can open minds, build confidence and change lives.
Here are just a few wonderful reviews from our younger audience members – special thanks to pupils from Marlborough St Mary’s Primary School for bringing joy to our official LitFest launch by singing on the steps of Marlborough Town Hall.
