Oscar Wilde would have approved of the cucumber sandwiches served at a literary tea salon organised by Marlborough LitFest event sponsor Wansbroughs on 27 April 2023.
Local author Kate Webb joined LitFest committee member Jon Stock, aka JS Monroe, author of last year’s Big Town Read, The Man on Hackpen Hill, to talk about her Wiltshire-based crime novel, Stay Buried, at The Peppermill Hotel, Devizes.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be supporting this year’s Marlborough LitFest, which promises to be a real literary treat for readers across our region,” says Wansbroughs marketing executive Kayleigh Tindalid.
“We very much look forward to continuing our relationship with the wonderful organisers and volunteers at the Marlborough LitFest, many of whom came along to support our recent author event at The Peppermill Hotel in Devizes and contributed to its success.”

The event was rearranged after the original date in March to celebrate International Women’s Day was snowed off. Despite torrential rain, nothing dampened demand for signed copies of Webb’s crime debut and some very fine sandwiches, cakes and scones.
