Reaching out to our community

Marlborough LitFest is a registered charity (charity number 1149252), established in 2012 with the charitable aim of providing opportunities for the public enjoyment of literature and the arts. Every year since 2012 we have provided free author talks to primary school children in the Marlborough area, and swiftly followed this achievement with events for secondary school children. Since then we have grown our events and activities to reach other members of our community.

Last year we were able to bring brilliant children’s authors to talk to to over 1,200 school children, put on free events for under 5s, arrange author visits to the Jubilee Centre, and contribute to an author event at Earlestoke Prison. This year we plan to do even more outreach activities, and as we are run by a volunteer committee every donation goes towards our charitable aims.
