Close of Marlborough Literature Festival 2013

Sunday, September 29th, 2013

After a wonderful three days, Marlborough Literature Festival has drawn to a close. Finishing with a great performance by Carol Ann Duffy there have been so many highlights it is hard to single them out. Fay Weldon was witty and sharp, Jeremy Strong was funny and had the longest book-signing queue. Bernardine Evaristo was thought-provoking, A.N. Wilson amazingly knowledgable, and Malcolm Gluck was most convivial. On Sunday the Poetry Café was serene and uplifting, open-mike poetry in the Green Dragon was packed, and Jackie Kay was immensely likeable.

Our fourth year of the Literature Festival seems to have created a real buzz in the town and we are already looking forward to planning the 2014 programme. A new date for your diaries: Marlborough Literature Festival 26th – 28th September 2014, hope to see you then.
